Pretty well done but didn’t really get there for me. The main success is the way it unspools its history of its traumatic day, with some pleasant small surprises and some creepy moments (being in the water for 47 minutes wondering if a shark would come too low to be kicked away).

The ending plays as a little twist, that the mother who’s spent the whole story lightly traumatized by her memories also thinks of that day as “the best”, which hooks back to an earlier section about her daughter’s illness, but it didn’t quite land for me.
